This is another film that will feed your soul. It's a story of a young twelve year old girl, Pai, born into a small village in New Zealand that bestows leadership of the village onto the first born male whose direct descendant of Paikea (he who rode on top of a whale).

The myth of Paikea is epic and passed down generations through story and song. Every cell in Pai's body is alive with the tale and sense of the deep purpose she feels to live in service to the whole community.  Yet, she is born a girl and so she is banned, shamed, and denied her passion.

 This movie serves this leg of our journey as it speaks to two things we will be exploring: 1) personal myth and the effects ancestry has on our current lives, and 2) the power of story to draw us into self and outward into vibrant connection with the world.
