The Non Linear Path

Heroes,

As you know Career Ecology is here to help you get off the linear path where most are scrambling to survive. Key to your success is your determination to take the path less taken – the non-linear path.

This involves re-tuning your senses to the call of your own working soul that synchs with your unique mission on this planet.

You were born with a vital spark that's as unique as your thumbprint. Only you can breathe it to existence. And for the world to be whole, it requires your pursuit of your destined path with all the courage you can muster.

Now, you might feel skeptical about fate and destiny. You might reject it straight out throwing your weight behind the power of the will.

Truth is, the two work together in sacred union. As Dr. Viktor Frankel (survivor of the Holocaust and illuminator of man's quest for meaning), revealed in his life's work, the primary motivation of humans is the will to meaning. Not pleasure or power, but meaning. The soul aches for meaning, which accounts for the despair you feel when our heart is just not into your work.

The Linear and Non-Linear Path

The linear path is that which the anxious small self (or ego self) demands we take out of lack of courage or will power to heed the heart's call for change.

The linear path is often that which has been drilled into us by something outside of ourselves (parents, partners, modern culture). The linear path is internalized oppression. This path is small minded. It lacks depth and imagination.

And here is how we are served by sudden career change.

When work stops working for all sorts of reasons, we get thrown off of the linear path. There is a moment of disorientation that shakes up our lives and temporarily knocks us off the linear path. That is the point!

This is your moment of liberation. This is moment to break free and live according to the drum of your own song.

For more on this calling and the authentic journey through life, I recommend Michael Meade's recent podcast, "On the Road of Fate and Destiny". Here is a brief review:

In this episode, Michael Meade considers how finding and following the thread that connects our fate to our destiny ultimately involves a pilgrimage to the center of the Self where the dream of life speaks in mythical tones. Seen this way, fate and destiny form an essential arc of meaning that carries a person out into the world and back to the inner treasure of the human soul.

Fate and destiny are the two great agreements that shape the core issues we struggle with throughout our lives. Although the thread of fate implies limitations, it also ties each person to a destiny waiting to awaken. If a person doesn't face their fate, they may never find the deep resources and natural gifts they have inside. If a person doesn't risk living out their destiny, they'll never know who they were intended to be.

There may be no greater time than these troubled times for learning how to face our fate and open the paths of destiny that our souls would have us take and that were the aim of our lives from the beginning.

We are living through epic times, and your search for meaningful work is just on time.

Will you accept the challenge of your aspiring soul to be You?

AI is already getting businesses in trouble. The lawsuit alleges that Workday's ATS that integrates AI for candidate assessment, etc., has been biased against applicants over the age of 40. This is a huge accusation that could very well be true.

So for the heroes in community who have been having a hard time getting seen, know that you're not crazy. AI could be impacting you at an algorithmic level. However, this is not an invitation to give up. Quite the opposite. This a call to get smart and manifest the non-linear path to success.
