Whale : Mythic Life

Your Story & Your Personal Myth

Life happens in those in between spaces where love is lost and where it is found. From the wisdom of Whale, we learn to gather up the broken fragments of our hearts and piece them back together in the form of story to recognize how we are being seasoned into healers – every single one of us. The question thus remains, how and where will I serve? In what way can we each help mend the original split between heart and mind that plagues us as individuals and as a collective family of humans?

Whale knows.

The answer rises from the depths in the form of myth. It rises to break the surface of persistent anxiety to reveal a storyline that's uniquely your own and uniquely your gift to the ecoystem of us all.

Rising to Myth

By now, you have set down significant events of your own life forming a Story Tree. Now it's time to pull up and out the mythic and universal themes that tie together your unfolding hero's tale.

Let's look again to our example of Prince William. Each grey box has been filled with the universal theme that the experience represents. Might any of these sound familiar and match your own life? We all share the same human condition, namely the split from spirit. It happens at birth when suddently we are thrust into a state of survival.

Notice the root ball which signifies "wholeness." Again, our lives are a persistent journey to reclaim that state of oneness, unity and wholeness. Given Prince Harry's journey and the experiences of deep loss, trauma and exile, it is no wonder that Prince Harry has chosen to advocate for Mental Health. This is his path to personal wellness and unity, and one he can share with the world.

Now You

Study each category in your Story Tree and pull out the mythic theme. Write it in the grey box, finishing at the root ball of "Wholeness". This is where it all comes together for how your journey contributes to the wholeness of humanity. How might your experience of fragmentation inspire healing for us all?

Remember not to force this. The root ball can be left blank and re-examined when we enter the realm of Bee where all will be integrated into a coming home.

Your story tree is alive and constantly shifting and changing. Taking care to appreciate all that you have experienced is a step towards gathering up your wisdom and your compassion – for life.

From this experience of laying down your life story and then drawing up the mythic story line, what did you notice? Where have you gained personal experience and thereby personal wisdom in service to the whole?
