Pharmacy Clinical Manager | Stanford Health Care



Stanford Health Care (SHC) is seeking a Clinical Pharmacy Manager for their Tri-Valley location.


The Clinical Pharmacy Manager is responsible for the coordination and development of all clinical pharmacy services in coordination with the Director of Pharmacy and the Pharmacy Operations Manager. Responsibilities shall include but not be limited to: ensuring that the pharmacy providers optimal clinical services daily, acting as departmental liaison in all clinical matters, student preceptorship, intra- and interdepartmental clinical education programs, staff development and clinical competency, oversight and evaluation of the clinical pharmacy staff, and chairing meetings of the hospital Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. The clinical pharmacy manager facilitates the development, implementation and maintenance of systems that promote desirable patient outcomes through the use of safe, appropriate and cost-effective medication therapies.


Position Compensation

$84.00 - $113.00


Essential Functions

  • Provide oversight/guidance of Antimicrobial Stewardship Program

  • Assist director in development and maintenance of new programs and/or roles to meet evolving needs of the department

  • Lead and develop clinical programs, especially in specialty areas such as but not limited to - Outpatient infusion/oncology - Transplant - Ambulatory pharmacy services

  • Develop and maintain pharmacist advance practice functions/pharmacy driven protocols

  • Develop, recruit, train, mentor Clinical Pharmacist, residents and students and assist Pharmacy leadership in succession planning

  • Lead, mentor, coach clinical pharmacist team to improve workflow, efficiency, ensure adequate coverage and increase presence in rounding/clinical decisions as well as encourage advancement in profession

  • Develop and provide pharmacy in services on a set schedule e.g. on new drugs to physicians, residents, nursing, clinical staff to advocate and increase awareness of Pharmacy Dept/practice/advancements

  • Coordinate and lead P&T in partnership w/ Director & Infection Control

  • Continually keep updated with clinical guidelines, standard of practice to create new and update existing clinical policies and educate pharmacy staff and clinicians

  • Develop and inform clinical staff drug shortage clinical strategies in partnership with Pharmacy Ops

  • Investigational Drug Services Program Development, Training, Maintenance, Expansion

  • Employee must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the C-I-CARE Standards of the Hospital. C-I-CARE is the foundation of Stanford Healthcare – Tri-Valley's patient-experience and represents a framework for patient-centered interactions


Job Qualifications


Education   

  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree and Clinical Pharmacy residency preferred or equivalent practice experience


Experience

  • 8-10 years health-system experience preferred with 3-5 years in a clinical pharmacist position required

  • At least 3-5 years of supervisory and/or advance education/training preferred

  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification

  • Licensed/Registered Pharmacist in the state of practice, California.
