
Alameda Health System is searching for an Inpatient Pharmacist that includes a blend with Oncology Infusion service line as well for its Highland General Hospital location.
Under general direction, the pharmacist compounds, prepares, dispenses and maintains control of drugs and pharmaceutical supplies in the hospital or clinic. Performs related duties as required.
Duties & Essential Job Functions:
The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification.
Compounds, prepares, packages and dispenses drugs and pharmaceuticals according to Federal and State law requirements; supervises Pharmacy Technician and other support staff on above duties.
Keeps informed of new drugs and pharmaceutical developments; services as a pharmaceutical consultant to medical and nursing staff.
Keeps or supervises records of drugs, poisons, and controlled substances ordered, received, and supply on hand as required by Federal and State laws; estimates needs and orders drugs, pharmaceuticals and chemicals as needed to maintain an adequate supply.
Reviews the proper storage of drugs on nursing stations, pharmacies or outpatient clinics; removes all outdated drugs.
Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education: American Society of Health-System Pharmacist, graduation from an ASHP accredited PGY1 Residency preferred.
Education: BS in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy.
Minimum Experience: Five years of pharmacy experience preferably two of which that are in a supervisory capacity.
Required Licenses/Certifications: Valid Pharmacist License issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
