I’m Lori Wallace — your Mentor & Muse, and the founder of Career Ecology. I created this space to guide you through the most misunderstood rite of modern life: career transition. Not with performance coaching — but with reflection, resonance, and practical support that helps you rise up whole.
When the twin towers fell on September 11th, 2001, I was a marketing executive in San Francisco preparing for the birth of my first child.
That morning, I felt the weight of human despair, not rage —and my body fell into early labor.
While the miracle of medicine was able to stop the process so I could carry my baby to term,
something else birthed in me that day:
the call to practice radical kindness in the world.
I knew it was time to grow beyond the world of banking.
I wanted to help heal human suffering.
This awakening led me to the practice of recruiting — but not the kind that chases, the kind that connects.
In 2005, I founded igMedical to transform headhunting into human connection.
And later, when the world fractured again — through pandemics, culture chaos, and climate change — another truth arose:
People don’t just need jobs.
People need a way back to meaning.
And so Career Ecology was born.
A place where work goes holistic.
A space where career change becomes a return — not just to employment, but to the joy of living.
I hold a degree in Psychology from UCLA, certifications in the Nurtured Heart Approach and Wild Soul Facilitation, and two decades of experience guiding professionals, seekers, and soul-driven humans through the unknown.
But what I bring you most is this:
I’ve lived the ache.
I’ve followed the tremble.
I’ve found my way back — by way of the heart, not the ego.
And now, I walk here with you.
